Social entrepreneurship combines the passion of making social or environmental impact with profit-making ambitions. Quebec’s social economy represents over 11, 200 enterprises with overall sales exceeding 47.8 billion dollars.
The spirit of a social enterprise goes beyond money. “Do good, earn good!” Join this three-part series to learn how to design, establish, launch, and grow a social enterprise that has a positive community impact and generates revenue from subject-matter experts and social entrepreneurs.
WORKSHOP 2 – Establishment and Funding
Many entrepreneurs are turning towards collective businesses to find innovative solutions to our social and environmental problems. Just in Montreal alone there are nearly 2,780 social economy businesses. However, there are still a lot of questions around establishing a social enterprise.
Choosing the right type of legal entity to register is perplexing! Should it be an incorporation (Quebec vs Federal), a nonprofit or a charity? What is the emerging notion of B-Corp? And then how about blood in the veins, funding? What organizations can help? What are the eligibility criteria for funding?
Get the answers to these questions and more in this workshop.
