Role Summary
The Fundraising & Community Relations Board Member supports the organization's efforts to secure financial resources, strengthen community partnerships, and build relationships with donors, sponsors, and supporters. This role helps ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising
- Support the development and implementation of fundraising initiatives and campaigns.
- Assist in identifying potential donors, sponsors, grants, and funding opportunities.
- Participate in fundraising events and donor engagement activities.
- Help promote a culture of philanthropy and community support within the organization.
Community Relations
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, businesses, and supporters.
- Represent the organization at community events and networking opportunities.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration with local organizations and stakeholders.
- Support initiatives that increase community awareness and engagement.
Strategic Support
- Provide input on fundraising goals and resource development strategies.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to diversify revenue sources.
- Contribute to board discussions regarding organizational sustainability and growth.
Qualifications
- Must be functionally bilingual: French & English
- Experience or interest in fundraising, donor relations, sales, business development, event planning, or community engagement.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to connect with diverse stakeholders and community partners.
- Previous nonprofit or board experience is an asset but not required.
Time Commitment
- 1-2 Board meetings/ month (3-6 hours/ month)
