Founded in 1995, YES Employment + Entrepreneurship is a non-profit community-based organization dedicated to enriching the community by providing English-language support services to help Quebecers find employment and start and grow businesses.

Position Summary
The Employment Counsellor provides individualized and group support to clients in all aspects of employment search and planning. This includes counselling, workshop facilitation, content development, and community outreach. You’ll help clients navigate today’s labour market, prepare for AI-enhanced hiring practices (e.g., applicant tracking systems [ATS], virtual interviews), and understand the digital skills employers now expect—all while providing thoughtful, client-centred support.
Responsibilities will include:

Client Support & Counselling
 Provide one-on-one employment counselling focused on job readiness, goal setting, and career planning.
 Assist clients with job search strategies, interview preparation, CV writing, and labour market research.

Program Delivery & Workshop Facilitation
 Develop and deliver job search methodology workshops.
 Prepare facilitation guides and workshop materials.
 Moderate workshops and manage specific projects such as internships.
 In collaboration with the E-Learning Developer, produce relevant content for the E-learning platform

Community Engagement
 Participate in outreach activities including school visits, exhibitions, and tradeshows.
 Coordinate networking events and employer outreach for job placements.

Mentorship Coordination
 Support mentorship services for Job Search clients in collaboration with the Mentorship Coordinator.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
 Bachelor’s degree in Human Relations, Social Sciences, or Human Resource Development (HRD).
 Minimum 5 years’ experience in job search facilitation and career development.
 Strong English writing and presentation skills.
 Ability to assess client needs and identify employment barriers.
 Proficiency in MS Office, CRM systems, Smartboard, and Outlook.
 Highly organized, autonomous, and able to manage multiple priorities.
 Availability for occasional evening workshops.
 Ability to work with diverse client populations
 Strong knowledge of job search techniques and labour market trends
 Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of French.
 Comfortable using case management systems and digital tools
 As an organization that provides services in English this position requires excellent English nwriting and communication skills.

Compensation: $50,000-$60,000/year
