Starting the Journey
When did you start your employment journey, and what were some of your goals when you started?
I started my employment journey in the fall 2025. My goal was getting a job that is not only part of my “daily routine”, but a vocation where I can execute tasks that show a part of who I am.
A New Chapter and Career Growth
What stage are you at now? What have been your greatest achievements?
I started my new position on May 4, 2026. My goal was to continue developing my career at the intersection of EDI (Equity, Diversity and Inclusion), arts, and culture in Canada, while supporting equity-deserving communities through meaningful and inclusive work. This role represents an important new step in my career. I now have the opportunity to apply my expertise in EDI within the arts and culture sector while also developing new coaching and organizational support skills to help foster more inclusive environments.
Overcoming Challenges
What were/are your biggest struggles?
One of my biggest challenges was learning to think outside the box and overcoming the feeling of being stuck in my career journey. With Annalise Iten’s guidance and support, I was able to broaden my perspective and discover new professional possibilities.
Before YES: Facing Barriers
What was the problem you were experiencing before you came into YES?
Before coming to YES, I found it difficult to identify exciting professional opportunities aligned with my field and values, especially positions where I could fully use my trilingual skills in Montreal.
