Job Overview

Established in 2001, our authentic Japanese sushi restaurant located in the beautiful waterfront area of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue is seeking a dedicated Cook (Sushi Cook) to join our culinary team. We take pride in delivering exceptional Japanese cuisine and high-quality food service. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a kitchen environment, excellent teamwork skills, and a strong understanding of food safety standards.

Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Prepare and cook Japanese cuisine, sushi, sashimi, and other specialty dishes using traditional techniques.
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes from the menu.
  • Ensure high-quality presentation and portion control of all food items.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to maintain strict health and food safety standards.
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and kitchen equipment.
  • Clean kitchen, work areas, and utensils to ensure a hygienic environment.
  • Safely operate and maintain commercial kitchen equipment

Qualifications & Job Requirements

  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of professional cooking experience (Experience in Japanese cuisine/sushi preparation is a strong asset).
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Language: Basic or functional English or French for kitchen communication.
  • Personal Suitability: Team player, Reliable, Organized, and Dependable.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to handle weights up to 23 kg (50lbs).
  • Flexibility: Ability to work various shifts including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Start Date: As soon as possible.
