Kurt Houghton holds a Bachelor of Arts with distinction in environmental studies from McGill University and an executive MBA from Université du Québec à Montréal with a specialization in collectively owned enterprises. He has over fifteen years of cooperative and non-profit management & administration experience and more than five years of entrepreneurial consulting and coaching.
These experiences allow him to appreciate the complimentary roles of good governance and efficient management in a context of limited resources. His collaborations with different Québec social economy financing organizations have allowed him to make his clients’ project visions and goals a reality through customized financing solutions. With a passion for social justice and local economic development, Kurt Houghton puts people first because no organization can develop without a satisfied clientele and well supported staff.
Maria Goyo is a Senior Business Development Manager at Futurpreneur, a leading Canadian non-profit supporting young entrepreneurs. With a diverse background including managing a marketing agency focused on connecting Canadian brands with the Hispanic market and serving as an Account Manager for private companies, Maria excels in identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities. Her expertise spans business development, sales, strategic planning, communications, and marketing, reflecting a holistic approach to business.
Beyond her professional achievements, Maria is dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion, leveraging her multicultural background to provide tailored content for multicultural communities. She holds degrees and certifications in Public Relations, Retail Commerce, and Integrated Communications Management from Concordia University, HEC Montreal, and Universidad Metropolitana in Caracas, Venezuela, respectively, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies and Journalism.
Lynn C. McDonald (MBA, CFA, IAS.A) is a champion of diverse and inclusive entrepreneurship, with a focus on impact investing and sustainable finance. Lynn is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in private equity, venture capital, and impact investing. She’s served as Senior Director and Vice President, Private Equity at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, working on venture capital, growth capital, and infrastructure investments. She brings deep expertise in private equity, venture capital, and governance to her role supporting businesses creating positive social and environmental change.
