The Recommendations from the Youth Employment Forum report, released in 2018, highlights issues regarding the employment reality of youth in the English-speaking communities of Quebec and makes recommendations to encourage their participation and retention in Quebec’s the labour force.
The findings of the report are based on data collected during the Forum held in December 2017 which had representation from unemployed and underemployed youth as well as employers, and representation from government and educational institutions. The Forum was funded through a grant from Canadian Heritage, and was developed as a direct response to recent surveys conducted by YES Employment + Entrepreneurship, specifically: Community Talks and Regional Needs Assessment which exposed the tough realities from the perspectives of both the employers and the youth from the English-speaking communities.
