Next Up in Our 30 Faces of YES: Sabrina Prioletta
When Sabrina turned to YES, she was at a pivotal moment in her professional life. Working as Brand Marketing Director at The Montreal Gazette, she realized there was something different she was meant to build — a path where she could create, lead, and make an impact on her own terms. Motivated to take the leap, she first worked with SAJE to develop a business plan, but it lacked the depth and clarity she needed.
Discovering YES became the turning point. Through their business coaching and workshops, she gained structure, insight, and encouragement. With the support of her YES business coaches, Sabrina reworked her business plan, creating a roadmap that reflected her strengths and vision. This led her to launch a business different from her original idea — one more aligned with her expertise and long-term goals. In her first year, she successfully onboarded several large clients (sometimes without all the right tools in place!) but – with the right mindset and resilience fostered through YES.
Today, Sabrina leads Brand and Communication Strategy, helping organizations and leaders stand out, influence with clarity, and drive results. As a PMI and TEC Speaker, TEDx Speaking Coach, and Facilitator, she delivers strategic advisory and training that amplifies brand presence and leadership impact. Her dedication to self-expression and identity is at the core of her ‘why’.
Interview with Sabrina
What brought you to YES, and what were you hoping to achieve at that time?
I was considering launching a business but all I knew was the corporate world. I had curiosity to push the envelop on what I ‘thought’ entrepreneurship was – what others shared with me – and what it really meant. I walked in with 15 years of corporate experience but 0 years of actual business experience.
Can you tell me about some of the challenges or goals you faced when you first connected with YES? Was there a particular moment or obstacle that felt especially significant?
My first business plan had been approved by SAJE, but I still felt there was lack of certainty that my idea would work. I had no business network at the time and the only feedback I got was from people who had only been employees throughout their lives. I felt that I needed a fresh perspective from a business professional.
How did YES support you in overcoming those challenges or moving forward in your career, business, or artistic journey?
My two YES business coaches challenged and supported me in all the ways I had hoped for. First, my business plan was completely revised, with appropriate financials and projections. This led me to completely change my focus! Second, my new business model was built, with just the right amount of ‘tough love’.
Were there any tools, workshops, or insights from YES that made a lasting difference?
I participated in a few YES workshops – legal, financial, and mind mapping. Importantly, the analysis of my financials saved me from making a potentially huge mistake.
Those workshops added to my toolbelt – so much so, that I returned to volunteer as a Speaker and Workshop facilitator for YES after my business was underway. I wanted to give back what I had received from the YES community.
Where are you now in your journey, and what achievements or milestones are you most proud of?
Today, I continue to run the business I launched in 2013, with the help and guidance of YES. I am currently a Brand & Communication Strategist and President of SIVA Solutions Inc. I advise, train, and speak on all that is related to: elevating brand identity, refining voice, and driving lasting impact.
I am a member of CAPS, The Speakers Bureau of Canada, eSpeakers, The Speakers Alliance, and All-American Speakers. I am also a TEC (The Executive Committee) and PMI (Project Management Institute) Speaker and a TEDx Speaking Coach.
These are some of the many milestones over the years that I am proud of. But overall, I would say I am very proud of the mindset readiness that helped me start this journey – and continue the journey – to this day. Mindset and entrepreneurship are things I was never taught at school, but acquired over the years, starting at YES.
Looking back, is there a particular moment or success that stands out as a turning point?
The moment that really stands out is something that Paul, my Business Coach said to me when I had first signed on a bigger-than-expected client (without all the resources in-place). He said, “you know, Sabrina, business is never a matter of resources. It’s a matter of self-confidence and resourcefulness; If you have confidence, the resources will follow and you’ll become resourceful. So, just believe in yourself”.
Those words were the catalyst for everything that followed. I have recited them many times in my talks and programs.
