This research study released in March 2017 identifies the key barriers and opportunities that English-speaking newcomers face when launching or planning to launch small to medium enterprises (SMEs) in Quebec. The information gathered by this study is intended to assist policy makers and entrepreneurship service providers in supporting newcomers (recent immigrants who arrived in the past five years) in the creation and growth of SMEs, leading to a stronger entrepreneurial society and economy in Quebec.

YES Employment + Entrepreneurship and the Association for Canadian Studies (ACS) would like to acknowledge the Government of Canada, Innovation Science and Economic Development (ISED) (formerly Industry Canada) for funding this study.
