Job Summary
We are a rapidly growing Korean and Asian specialty supermarket that has recently expanded and relocated to a larger facility. We are seeking an experienced and dependable Lead Meat Cutter / Senior Butcher to oversee daily meat operations. This leadership role ensures product quality, supervises junior staff, maintains food‑safety compliance, and supports efficient supermarket operations
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Technical Duties
- Perform advanced meat cutting, trimming, deboning, slicing, and portioning
- Prepare Korean/Asian specialty cuts (bulgogi, galbi, samgyeopsal, hot‑pot slices)
- Ensure consistent product quality, presentation, and yield control
- Oversee equipment operation, cleaning, and maintenance
- Manage inventory, ordering needs, and stock rotation
- Maintain MAPAQ‑compliant food‑safety and sanitation standards
Leadership & Supervisory Duties
- Supervise and train junior meat cutters and assistants
- Assign daily tasks and monitor productivity
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and hygiene protocols
- Support scheduling and workflow planning
- Communicate with management regarding needs, issues, and improvements
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience as a Meat Cutter / Butcher (supermarket preferred)
- Strong knowledge of beef, pork, poultry, and Asian specialty cuts
- Proven ability to supervise, train, and lead a team
- Ability to work in cold environments and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to hygiene
- Basic communication in English or French
- Experience with Korean/Asian cuts is a strong asset
