Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports children’s social, emotional, and cognitive growth. Bilingual proficiency in English and French is highly valued to support our diverse community.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age‑appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and learning
- Monitor and assess children’s progress and communicate updates to parents and team members
- Support children with special needs through tailored activities and accommodations
- Maintain accurate records (attendance, milestones, behavior observations)
- Collaborate with colleagues on classroom activities and school events
- Use computer tools for lesson planning, documentation, and communication
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times.
Conditions of Employmen
- Salary: Based on experience, from $18.00 to $30.00 per hour
- Hours per week: 30 or 40 hours
- Start date: As soon as possible
Experience
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings preferred
- Classroom experience in early childhood or special education valued
- Bilingual English/French strongly preferred
- Ability to support children with disabilities or special needs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Organizational skills for managing multiple responsibilities
- Basic computer literacy for educational tools and documentation
Description of Qualifications
- DEC in Early Childhood Education (3‑year CEGEP diploma)
- AEC in Early Childhood Education (1,350 hours)
