NEW! Service Agreements: What To Watch For – From Both Sides Of The Deal

Understand Service Agreements: Protect Your Work & Negotiate with Confidence
Whether you’re providing services or hiring support for your business, understanding service agreements is essential to protect your work, avoid costly misunderstandings, and strengthen professional relationships. This workshop is designed for founders, freelancers, and small business owners who want to navigate service contracts confidently.
Why Service Agreements Matter
Service agreements are practical tools for clarity and protection. In this session, you’ll learn how to interpret key clauses, recognize potential risks, and ensure that both provider and client expectations are clearly defined.
Key Clauses and Red Flags
You’ll explore the most important clauses of a service agreement, including scope, deliverables, payment terms, timelines, intellectual property, and liability. You’ll also learn to spot common red flags such as vague language, missing termination terms, and one-sided conditions that could lead to disputes.
Balancing Client and Provider Perspectives
Looking at contracts from both the provider and client perspectives, you’ll understand what each side needs to protect. Providers will learn how to safeguard payment and scope, while clients will discover what to watch for regarding quality and timelines. We’ll also discuss typical friction points and strategies to handle them effectively.
Build Confidence in Negotiation
The workshop focuses on building negotiation confidence. You’ll learn to distinguish between flexible terms and standard boilerplate language, and how to ask the right questions to ensure clarity and fairness in your agreements.
Session Details & Q&A
The session concludes with a Q&A and group discussion, giving participants a chance to share experiences and insights. Please note this is an educational session only—no legal advice will be provided.
