Julie Hamel (Managing Director & Social Innovation Coach, Balsam by D3)
Julie Hamel (MBA) is a senior business advisor with over 25 years of experience. She began her career as an entrepreneur before becoming a social economy advisor in 2006. She successfully managed many fast-food franchises through the 90s before becoming the general manager of a major private non-profit golf course. Her range of expertise includes among others, marketing, operations, and business development.
For the past ten years, her social preoccupation has led her to invest most of her time and energy in the field of social economy, including helping dozens of non-profit organizations. Julie has been involved with Concordia’s District 3 since 2015 as the Social Entrepreneurship Coach.
Florence So (Counsel, nNovation LLP)
Florence is a member of Le Barreau du Québec and the Law Society of Ontario. She is a lawyer in a firm specializing in privacy and IT law. Before her legal career, Florence was a software engineer. Through her consulting company, she designed and implemented large-scale ERP solutions for clients in the manufacturing, education, and transportation industries.
Florence was a participant in the 1st cohort of YES Montreal’s ELLEvate program. As a top-notch lawyer, she’ll lead you through the registration process, type of entity to pick, and legalities related to a social enterprise.
