Q&A With Amélie Rochette
When did you start your entrepreneurial journey and what were some of your goals when you started?
“I started my practice in October 2024. After my third child, I didn’t see myself working full-time in a stressful environment and still having the energy to care for my family and myself. My goal was to earn a decent salary, work part-time, and have the flexibility to spend time with my kids.”
What stage are you at now? What have been your greatest achievements?
“I’ve been working at the rhythm I’d hoped for since last Christmas—I’d say I’m in the execution phase. My biggest win was connecting quickly with various Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) to get new clients and joining a clinic to offer in-person consultations.”
What were/are your biggest struggles?
“Working solo can be isolating. I connect with clients, but when I hit a snag, I can’t just pop into a colleague’s office for support. Joining a clinic helped me address that.
I also have so many ideas for scaling my practice, but not enough time. My YES coach, Miriam, helped me organize those ideas and get out of the “overwhelm” loop.”
What was the problem you were experiencing before coming to YES?
“YES helped me get started—developing a business plan and thinking things through. The coaching has made sure I don’t overlook anything important.”
What did you find as a result of using our services? What was the best thing about it?
“I felt guided. I’m new to entrepreneurship and didn’t know many others in my field. The advice and resources from YES were more than welcome.”
How do you feel about the service you received from YES?
“I’d recommend YES 100%! I felt supported and equipped with the right tools to launch my business.”
