Next Up in Our 30 Faces of YES: Kristy Findlay & Geneviève Fily-Paré

Just a day after Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, we’re excited to spotlight two women whose determination and vision have shaped one of Québec City’s most thoughtful and values-driven clinics. When Kristy Findlay and Geneviève Fily-Paré co-founded Centre Mosaïque de Québec, they had a strong mission and early momentum — including a Coup de cœur prize at Défi OSEntreprendre — but were seeking the business knowledge and guidance to bring their idea to life.

Turning to YES, they found the support they needed to navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship without a traditional business background. Through consistent mentorship with YES Business Coach Coby Ingham, they gained clarity, accountability, and a dedicated space to work through challenges while staying aligned with their core values. Each conversation helped them move forward with confidence and purpose.

Today, Kristy and Geneviève have grown Centre Mosaïque de Québec into a thriving clinic with 12 employees, a building of their own, and a solid foundation built on the same principles that guided them from day one. Their journey — from an award-winning idea to a flourishing, values-rooted enterprise — is a testament to what women entrepreneurs can accomplish when passion meets the right support.

Interview with Kristy & Geneviève

What brought you to YES, and what were you hoping to achieve at that time?

We had participated in Le Défi OSEntreprendre and won the Coup de coeur prize for our clinic idea. All we needed now was more guidance to bring our vision to fruition!

Can you tell me about some of the challenges or goals you faced when you first connected with YES? Was there a particular moment or obstacle that felt especially significant?

We do not have a background in business. This made it challenging to ensure our business coach understood the nuances of our particular field, all the while seeking good advice for growing the clinic and staying true to our vision and mission.

How did YES support you in overcoming those challenges or moving forward in your career, business, or artistic journey?

We were fortunate that we could meet with Coby nearly every month. He kept track and held us accountable for all discussion points month to month. It also allowed us a place to air our fears and worries to overcome challenges.

Were there any tools, workshops, or insights from YES that made a lasting difference?

For us, it was the excellent and consistent mentorship of Coby Ingham that made all the difference.

Where are you now in your journey, and what achievements or milestones are you most proud of?

We’re proud to say that we have grown our clinic to 12 employees, and we were able to buy our building in 2021! We continue to maintain a strong connection to our initial goals and values all the while evolving into a successful clinic.

Looking back, is there a particular moment or success that stands out as a turning point?

The moment we brought on our third co-owner was a big one. As was the moment we offered our independent contractors the opportunity to be employees. And of course buying our building was a huge step!

Do you have any full-circle moments to share—such as returning as a speaker, mentor, or volunteer?

We were invited to speak at an ELLEvate event. It was lovely to share with other women the challenges, particular to being a woman in business. Another full-circle moment was when we were featured in ELLEvate’s Role Model video series, where we were able to share more about our journey as entrepreneurs!
