Founded in 1995, YES Employment + Entrepreneurship is a non-profit community-based organization dedicated to enriching the community by providing English-language support services to help Quebecers find employment and start and grow businesses.

Join YES Employment + Entrepreneurship as an Employment Counsellor and help job seekers build the skills and confidence they need to thrive in the future of work.
We are seeking a dynamic, digitally fluent Employment Counsellor to provide one-on-one and group support to job seekers across diverse career stages. This role involves career counselling, digital job search training, providing labour market insights, and aiding the development of e-learning courses.
You’ll help clients navigate the modern job market, prepare for AI-enhanced hiring practices (e.g. ATS, virtual interviews), and understand the digital skills employers now expect — all while delivering compassionate, client-centered support.

Position Responsibilities
CLIENT SUPPORT & CAREER COUNSELLING
+ Provide personalized one-on-one employment counselling focused on career transitions, job readiness, and goal setting in today’s digital economy.
+ Assist clients with:
o Navigating AI-driven hiring systems (e.g., ATS optimization)
o Online job search strategies and networking (LinkedIn, online platforms)
o Interview preparation (in-person and virtual)
o CV, portfolio, and digital profile development
+ Help clients identify transferable skills, reskilling/upskilling needs, and career pathways in growth sectors.
PROGRAM DELIVERY & WORKSHOP FACILITATION
+ Develop and deliver interactive workshops on modern job search techniques, personal branding,
AI-readiness, and adapting to remote/hybrid work trends.
+ Create and update workshop materials and facilitation guides with a focus on digital literacy and evolving hiring trends.
+ Collaborate with the E-learning Developer to co-create on-demand, future-focused elearning content for job seekers.

Community Engagement & Outreach
+ Participate in outreach activities such as school visits, employment fairs, and regional events.
+ Coordinate networking and employer engagement initiatives to support client placements and mentorship.
+ Build relationships with organizations, educational institutions, and employers to connect clients with real opportunities.
MENTORSHIP COORDINATION
+ Support mentorship activities in collaboration with the Mentorship Coordinator, helping clients build meaningful professional relationships.

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Human Relations, Career Development, Social Work, Human Resource Development (HRD), or a related field.
+ Minimum 3 years of experience in employment counselling, job readiness programming, or career development.
+ Understanding of AI trends, digital recruitment tools, and future-of-work concepts (e.g., remote work, gig economy, automation).
+ Strong English writing, facilitation, and digital presentation skills.
+ Ability to assess client needs and adapt strategies for diverse client groups (youth, newcomers, mid-career changers, etc.).
+ Comfortable using MS Office, CRM systems, Video Conferencing, Outlook, and digital collaboration tools.
+ Highly organized, autonomous, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
+ Willingness to occasionally work evening workshops and travel to regional events.
+ Bilingualism is an asset.
+ As an organization that provides services in English this position requires excellent English writing and communication skills.

Compensation: $50,000.00-$60,000.00
