Job Title: Airside Groomer

 

Reports To: Team Lead / Shift Supervisor

 

Overview: An Airside Groomer is responsible for ensuring that the interior of our client’s aircraft is clean, sanitized, and well-presented safely on time to provide a pleasant experience for passengers. Groomers must be efficient, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Cleaning & Sanitizing: Thoroughly clean and sanitize aircraft flight deck, cabin, including seats, floors, lavatories, and galleys, including tray tables, overhead bins, screens, and windows.

 

Waste Management: Empty and dispose of waste from seat-back pockets and other areas, and restock supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and hand sanitizer.

 

Vacuuming & Mopping: Vacuum carpets, upholstery, and floors, remove gum.

 

Detailing: Perform detailed cleaning tasks such as spot cleaning carpets, seats, and windows.

 

Safety Checks: Ensure all safety equipment, including seatbelts, Safety Feature Cards are properly stowed and in good condition.

 

Restocking: Replenish cabin supplies such as air sick bags, magazines, and menus.

 

Dressing: Redress pillows, blankets, headphones and water according to cabin class.

 

Reporting: Report any damage, malfunction, left behind personal items, potential safety hazards or security concerns to your team lead or Supervisor immediately.

 

Equipment and Supplies: Care for, clean and prepare necessary equipment and supplies as required.

 

Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards.

 

Collaboration: Work closely with other cleaning staff, maintenance personnel, other service personnel and flight crew to ensure a safe and efficient turnaround. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate cleaning tasks and address any issues promptly.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications and Skills

 

Education: Most have command of the English language.

 

Skills

  • Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and proper usage.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.

 

Other Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain necessary airport security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain class 5 driver’s license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Airside Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP/DA)

 

Working Conditions

 

Environment:

  • Fast-paced, physically demanding work environment.
  • Exposure to various cleaning agents and chemicals.
  • Working in confined spaces within aircraft cabins.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
