The Restaurant Manager oversees all aspects of restaurant, bar, and banquet operations. This person will be called upon to ensure the fluidity of operations while ensuring compliance with hotel standards. In addition, this person will have to demonstrate strong organizational and planning skills while guaranteeing the satisfaction of the clientele as well as the people under her responsibility.



  • Ensure the proper functioning of restaurant, bar, and meeting room activities
  • Be present and visible in operations, recognize and maintain relationships with regular customers and develop relationships with new guests
  • Target customer needs by making recommendations and adding a personalized touch
  • Handle customer complaints with the highest level of professionalism
  • Control operating and labor costs through an effective approach to schedules, budgets, purchasing decisions and inventory control while looking at creative solutions to generate revenue in order to maximize profits
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager and Chefs to design menus and a wine list of interest while ensuring to offer excellent quality products at a fair price
  • Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met and attend operations meetings on a periodic basis to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments
  • Share daily operational needs and assign daily tasks to managers and employees under his responsibility
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with all colleagues and hotel manager
  • Communicate with the various hotel departments and perform the necessary follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and prevent complaints and/or problematic situations
  • Review reservations daily to ensure compliance with special requests, regular customers, and group reservations
  • Selecting, training, evaluating, directing, motivating, coaching, and disciplining restaurant, bar and banquet employees and managers within the hotel to ensure that established fundamental and cultural norms are met
  • Manage and revise the work schedules of employees and managers under his charge so that they reflect operational needs
  • Encourage healthy working methods to ensure the health, safety and satisfaction of guests and hotel employees
  • Create an open and cooperative work environment in which everyone's opinion is shared and valued
  • Perform any other task related to the functions.

Requirements :

  • Communicate perfectly in English and French, orally and in writing
  • 3-5 years of experience in restaurant management or related field
  • Post-secondary degree in hotel or restaurant management, administration, or related field.
  • Have a good resistance to stress and manage it positively and effectively
  • Be comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate a very good team spirit
  • Interest and ability to provide unparalleled service to our internal and external customers and our suppliers
  • Have an excellent presentation, good speech, in French and English, and good interpersonal skills to meet the expectations of a high-end clientele
  • Maintain a professional appearance and always conduct themselves maturely and with integrity
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment
  • Be organized, meticulous and resourceful
  • Demonstrate creativity and initiative
  • Good computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe, Iwate (asset)
