Description
High Tech Genesis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our expanding team. We’re looking for a candidate with experience in plastic injection molded designs for consumer products.
In this role, you will:
- Using SolidWorks, design mechanical components and systems for use in consumer products.
- Design, prototype, validate, source, and manufacture various components.
- Create component drawings, assembly drawings, bills of materials, and change orders.
- Manage design data via PLM/PDM systems.
- Coordinate with component suppliers on tooling design, creation, and manufacturing logistics.
- Assist transition to mass production internally and at contract manufacturers.
- Collaborate with Product Design, Electronics, Firmware, Manufacturing, and Testing teams.
- Ensure designed products meet required quality and safety standards and assist in UL certification of final product.
Required skills and experience:
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering
- A high degree of proficiency in SolidWorks CAD modeling
- Demonstrated experience with design for plastic injection molding
- Demonstrated experience with plastics materials selection
- Demonstrated experience with design for consumer products
- Demonstrated experience with thermal simulation software and thermal mitigation techniques
- Demonstrable experience with basic mechanical tools and mechanical assembly
- Understanding of GD&T and ASME standards
- Understanding of UL requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering or similar
Bonus skill:
- Bilingual English and French written and spoken
