Samuelsohn Ltd is looking for a HR Coordinator with a passion for recruiting. This role will support a unionized manufacturing site in Montreal. The HR coordinator will be required to work closely with the site supervisors and the VP of Manufacturing to understand the hiring needs.  We require someone to work inside an office environment. This important role will also facilitate daily HR functions such as tracking employee records within our HR department.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Leads full cycle recruitment by working closely with the hiring managers to determine hiring needs of unionized and non-syndicated personnel
  • Administer onboarding tasks and delivery of new hire presentation to ensure sound of understanding of policies and procedures
  • Maintains employee files and prepares employee documentation
  • Proactively research and interact with future candidate through electronic forums, social and professional networks
  • Source talent for all open positions and anticipate future employment needs; collect and review cvs; pre-screen and conduct in-depth interviews, ensure company and positions are accurately presented
  • Develop strategic partnerships with providers, educational institutions and organizations; attend job fairs to support recruitment efforts
  • Administer attendance record (e.g leaves of absences and sick days)
  • Ensure our Union and Salaried New Hire Packages are electronically up to date
  • Provide administrative support to HR teams as required

Profile & skills required

  • HR Degree/Diploma or other related field, candidate without a degree who have a exceptional recruitment experience will also be considered
  • 0-2 year of related human resources, recruiting or administrative support experience (previous fashion or manufacturing/industrial experience an asset)
  • Strong communication skills (English and French) verbal and written with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the company
  • MS Office advanced proficiency and having previous experience using various recruitment strategies through social media
  • Passion for recruitment, willing to learn
  • A team player, committed, takes initiative with service mindset, go-getter
  • Must be organized, detailed oriented, autonomous
  • Sound judgement, initiative, and ability to change prioritizing workloads on demand
