Case Manager I – Immigration Services
1-year full-time contract

JOB SUMMARY

Immigration Services is the hub for Jewish newcomers seeking to immigrate and settle in Montreal. The responsibility of the Case Manager I – Immigration Services is to facilitate the successful integration of newly arrived immigrants into the Montreal Jewish community and Quebec society. Case Manager I – Immigration Services provides and coordinates basic and functional psychosocial analysis as well as concrete and functional action plans requiring advocacy and referrals to identified services with the goal of assisting newcomers to become fully self-sufficient.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Basic and functional psycho-social analysis of clients and families’ needs
  • Determine a client-centered action plan including agency response and follow-up
  • Assess client’s financials, if appropriate
  • Provide advocacy and referral responses
  • Ongoing psycho-social support
  • Collaborate, coordinate and consult with diverse internal and external professionals and systems
  • Communicate with clients on a wide range of issues, including getting required documentation, updating demographics, registering for programs and events, following up on deadlines
  • Negotiate, mediate and interpret on behalf of service users
  • Identify trends in requests and community needs
  • Fulfill all administrative and data requirements
  • Present cases on internal and external committees
  • Serve on agency departmental, interdepartmental, intra-agency committees
  • Participate in staff development programs

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum DEP or Bachelor’s degree in social service or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Concrete experience with immigrant population
  • Good understanding of accessing public services
  • Fluently bilingual in both official languages, written and spoken; with strong French communication skills
  • Knowledge of Montreal and France Jewish Community
  • Data literacy skills: Word, Excel, web-based database, Zoom and Teams

This position requires the selected applicant to undergo vulnerable sector police check.
