Location: MWS Camps Montreal, McGill University

Start date: May 8th - August 11th. This is a hybrid position. This position will become residential (24 hr a day/7 days a week) from June 19 - August 6th. 

Compensation: Compensation is negotiable depending on experience. For the residential period of the contract compensation package includes all meals, single room accommodation, and expenses related to excursions and camp activities. 1 day off a week during the residential portion of the contract. 

Established in 1983, MWS Student Camps has welcomed thousands of young people from more than 50 nations to our camps. From the beginning, we have strived to offer and operate innovative, vibrant, and exciting programmes. Our MWS Montreal Camp is centrally located at McGill University allowing us access to so much the city has to offer and immerse our students with Canadian culture.

Our Camp Coordinator will oversee both the English and French camps at our Montreal location. This position will begin in May to arrange logistics before the camp begins operating. The coordinator will be the main point of contact for the stakeholders our organization works closely with in Montreal. They will ensure the safety and operation of the programmes in Montreal. The coordinator will oversee the directorship team and  work closely with the Montreal Office Director for the daily operations of the camp.  This role will report to and work closely with the MWS Director of Operations. 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Maintain positive working relations and communicate effectively with MWS stakeholders to ensure preparation and logistics for upcoming camp term
  • Produce and Facilitate training activities and workshops 
  • Oversee program delivery and staff management for both language camps
  • Supervise and support Camp Directors
  • Maintain accurate record of expenses and oversee/administer budget
  • Maintain camper and staff confidentiality at all times

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Post-Secondary graduate preferred; Student applications will be considered if qualifications and experience meet expectations
  • Experience in a leadership/director role in a camp or youth focused setting
  • Must be bilingual in French and English
  • Fluency in other languages is an asset but not required
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and appreciated of diversity and social inclusivity
  • Able to work collaboratively with directors and leaders
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
