SUMMARY:NEW! Level up your Artist Bio\, Statement\, & CV
DESCRIPTION:How to Write an Artist Bio\, Statement & CV That Gets Noticed\nNot sure how to describe your artistic practice? Level Up Your Artist Bio\, Statement & CV is a practical workshop designed to help artists communicate their work with greater clarity\, confidence\, and purpose. \nWriting about your own work isn’t always straightforward. Many artists struggle to know where to begin\, what to include\, or how to describe their practice without relying on vague or generic language. Whether you’re applying for grants\, exhibitions\, residencies\, festivals\, or other professional opportunities\, having strong written materials can help your application stand out and accurately reflect your work. \nLevel Up Your Artist Bio\, Statement & CV\nThis workshop offers a framework for approaching the artist bio\, statement\, and CV as tools for understanding and communicating your practice. Through examples\, practical exercises\, and guided feedback\, we’ll look at the different roles each document plays and how they can work together to present a clear picture of your work. \nWe’ll spend time identifying the ideas\, questions\, and experiences that shape your practice. The goal is to develop materials that are specific\, coherent\, and useful across a range of professional contexts. \nWhat You’ll Learn\n\nClarify the ideas and themes that run through your practice.\nUnderstand the distinct purpose of an artist bio\, statement\, and CV.\nDevelop strategies for writing with greater clarity and specificity.\nRecognize and move beyond common generic or overused formulations.\nLeave with practical tools you can continue to apply when revising these documents.\n\nWhy This Matters\nYour bio\, statement\, and CV are often requested for grants\, exhibitions\, residencies\, festivals\, and other opportunities. They are frequently the first introduction decision-makers have to your work and can play an important role in shaping how your practice is understood. \nThese documents also provide an opportunity to reflect on your artistic journey and communicate your ideas in a way that is accessible to others. A strong understanding of these materials can make the application process feel more manageable and less like starting from scratch each time. \nBy participating in this workshop\, you’ll gain practical strategies that can help you create stronger professional materials and feel more confident presenting your work. \nWho Should Attend?\nThis workshop is intended for emerging artists from all disciplines who are developing or revising their professional materials. It is suitable both for artists writing these documents for the first time and for those returning to materials that no longer reflect their current practice. \nNo prior experience is required. \nWorkshop Details\nSpeaker: Caroline Gauthier\, YES Artist Business Coach\nDate: Wednesday\, September 23\, 2026\nTime: 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM\nFormat: Hybrid\nCost: $20 \nBonus for In-Person Participants\nIn-person attendees are invited to arrive at 6:00 PM for a fun preparation exercise designed to help participants connect with one another. This realization led her to pursue her passion for business by completing an MBA at HEC Montréal. \nKnown for her practicality\, empathy\, and rigor\, Caroline is equally recognized for her strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. Throughout her career\, she has combined her creative sensibilities with a highly rational mindset to successfully advance projects in both the arts and nonprofit sectors. \nAs an artist business coach\, she brings to the table her knack for structure\, forging a vision and seeing things through. \nShe is thrilled to use her business and creative skills to put them at the service of artist-entrepreneurs and help them with their projects\, from ideation to fruition.  \n  \n*This low registration fee is only possible thanks to our generous funders and partners. \nTo learn more about our services for Artists\, click here.
