The journey of an artist is one that can be exciting and isolating at the same time. Especially now during this time of continuous change and unbalance. But don’t despair, you’re not in it alone!

Recent events have emphasized the importance of strengthening art communities by providing a source of connection, celebration, and growth all while rising to the challenges of an uncertain world. That’s where our Business Skills for Creative Souls Artists Conference comes in.

Join us online on March 28th from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM as we explore what it means to make art today, and what’s next for artists and creatives. Arts organizations will also be available before the conference for one-on-one consults (reserve your spot now as spaces are limited).

Registration is free, but you must register in advance.

What do artists and entrepreneurs have in common? Hear Charlie Wall-Andrews speak about how artists who embrace the entrepreneurship mindset can transform their careers, as she explains the links between creativity and being business savvy and provides case studies proving it’s possible.

Hear from creatives Ash Phillips and Miro Laflaga, founders of Six Cinquième, as they offer tips on how to take control of your craft and confidently define who you are to build a solid brand. Create your own path by portraying yourself in the way you want future clients, collaborators, and partners to see you.

Hear from a panel of six established artists from various disciplines as they speak on how they’ve built their creative careers and navigated an ever-changing landscape through perseverance, creativity, and community.

Themes: Knowing your worth, self-discipline, surrounding yourself with community, discerning which opportunities are worthwhile, building relationships, making yourself visible, finding a balance between creating and administrating, doing it for the love of it.

Let Québec Relations take the stress out of funding! They offer one-on-one consultations to help you find the grant programs that best meet your needs and make sense of the eligibility criteria. And when it comes time to apply to any Quebec-based funder (e.g., CALQ, SODEC), they offer referrals to work with an experienced grant consultant – at no charge – to teach you the grant-writing fundamentals and help you apply with greater confidence.

Contact them today at [email protected] to request your consultation! This ELAN project is supported by the Secretariat for Relations with English-speaking Quebecers.

What are NFTs? Non-fungible tokens have caught the attention of the arts and creative industries alike, but how and where do you get started? Hear from award-winning new media and crypto artist Martin Lukas Ostachowski, about the possibilities, limitations, and myths of crypto art and learn about its potential applications in your creative endeavors.

After overcoming challenging times, how do you go from simply surviving to thriving? Hear Amy Blackmore as she speaks about the strength of the English-speaking arts community in Montreal and the importance of creativity, resiliency, and curating your community. This is a time when artists and human empathy are needed more than ever. So, let’s band together and ask ourselves: What’s Next?!

Registration is free, but you must register in advance. Save your spot today!
